CBD Tincture uses

Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is making big waves in the health and wellness world, with some studies confirming that it might be effective in treating both physical and mental ailments.

As it becomes more popular, different forms of CBD are emerging – CBD oil, creams, capsules, and vapes. But the hot favorite, thanks to its affordability and ease of use, is CBD tincture.

So what are the Effects of CBD tincture, and how do you use it? What are the benefits? We’ve put together all the uses, benefits, and effects of CBD tincture in this handy blog.

What’s the difference between CBD tincture and CBD oil?

It’s easy to confuse the two, but CBD oil and CBD tincture couldn’t be more different.

In simple terms, a tincture is a liquid extract that’s formed when you dilute one substance with another fluid. For tinctures, the most common liquid used is alcohol. But oil, vinegar, or glycerin can also be used.

On the other hand, CBD oil is extracted directly from the seeds, flowers, and stalks of hemp plants. Due to this involved extraction process, CBD oil isn’t as cost-effective as tinctures. But it is more potent, so dosages do vary from person to person.

How do you use CBD tincture?

Out of all the different CBD forms available, CBD tinctures are by far the easiest and most discreet. That’s because it’s ingested a few drops at a time by placing it under your tongue.

Before you use your CBD tincture, shake the bottle to ensure that the CBD is thoroughly mixed with the alcohol. Measure out the amount of liquid using the attached dropper, and squeeze the tincture under your tongue.

Remember to let the drops sit under your tongue for 1-2 minutes before you swallow. Don’t panic if you accidentally swallow the drops sooner – it won’t make you ill, but it will take longer to feel the effects.

Once the drops dissolve, the CBD is absorbed into your sublingual artery, then to your  external carotid artery, next into your internal carotid artery, and then to your brain. The whole process can take up to fifteen minutes. However, if after 60 to 90 minutes you don’t feel any relief, repeat the process again.

Try eating a meal with your CBD tincture. CBD is fat-soluble, so any fat intake will increase its absorption up to five times.
